Operation DSLR is underway

Posted on March 6, 2009 at 20:18

After getting back from a holiday where I got quite annoyed by my point-and-shoot camera, I have decided to get back into photography again (yet another expensive hobby). I am planning to buy myself a Canon 450D DSLR, so I'm having a fund raising ebay adventure starting with my nokia N810. So if you are interested in buying one head on over to eBay and have a look.

Ahhh, digital fotography...

Since you call it an expensive hobby, I guess you'll not stick with the camera and the kit lens ;-)

I'll be looking forward to read about further investments. I and my wife have (on a Canon 40D) a lot of fun with the Tokina 11-16mm super wideangle lens. If you get a super wideangle (especially if you end up buy a different one) I'd be happy to compare notes. I ended up buying the Tokina (instead of the Canon 10-20mm) because it's a f/2.8 and because it's rumoured to be a bit sharper, though I haven't had the opportunity to compare these two.

I'm thinking of replacing the old 100-300mm with a stabilised tele zoom, and of getting a 30mm/35mm prime (either the Sigma or the Canon f/1.4. The latter, being an 'L' lens, is really expensive though) especially for indoor use without flash, since the 50mm/1.8 I have is a bit too long for a standard lens on the small sensor camera.
